TEHRAN — Managing director of the Bakhtar Regional Electricity Company, Falahatian said on Friday that executive operations to construct a 1000 megawatt gas power plant in Khorramabad, Lorestan Province, would be undertaken by the end of the current year.
Falahatian added that the aforesaid power plant would be constructed by the private sector and in a period of four years.
He also went on to say that a land area as large as 96 hectares has been purchased for constructing the gas power plant and that the Oil Ministry is scheduled to provide the necessary gas.

The cause of the crash of the Iran Air Tours flight from Tehran to Khorramambad, about 230 miles to the southwest, wasn't known, though it had been raining and snowing in the mountains at the time of the crash.
The plane lost contact with the control tower at Khorramabad airport moments before it crashed at 7:55 a.m., 15 miles west of Khorramabad, state-run Iranian television said.
