Khotin) is a city in the Chernivtsi Oblast of western Ukraine, and is the administrative center of the Khotynsky Raion (district) within that oblast.
In earlier times, the town was part of the Bessarabia region, which between the 15th and the 20th centuries belonged successively to Moldavia, the Ottoman Empire, Russia, Romania, the Soviet Union, split between Ukrainian SSR and Moldavian SSR), and remained split between Ukraine and Moldova.
This victory is remembered primarily through the Ode on the Taking of Khotin from the Turks, composed by the young Mikhail Lomonosov.

The Uprising of Khotin also known as the Khotin Massacre was an insurrection in eastern part of Moldavia (Bessarabia), followed by the ethnic cleansing of Ukrainian civilians by Romanian authorities, in January–February 1919.
In 1918 the town of Khotin, was annexed to Romania, with the rest of Bessarabia.
The Romanian troops occupied Khotin on January 13, 1919 despite the active resistance of the Ukrainian population and the official protest from the Ukrainian People's Republic.

It wasn't until the project was almost due that Khotin realized his team had not found a way to implement a significant number of important features in the program.

Well, the battle in 1621 ended with Ottoman defeat, but this was not a major case.Ottomans had besieged Khotin and lost due to lack of discipline in the Ottoman army.
The battle in 1672 actually ended with Ottoman victory in the end, and in the Treaty of Bujash, Poland left district of Podolia to Ottoman Empire, though that territory was later given back after the great Ottoman defeat against the holy alliance consisting of Austria-Russia-Venice-Poland.
