Much of the Pakistan side of the Khunjerab Pass that links Pakistan with China on the Karakoram Highway is within the Khunjerab National Park (KNP), established in 1975.
The pass is one of the few known habitats of the big, curly-horned Marco Polo sheep, of which there are now only a few hundred in the world.
A KNP resthouse at Dih may be available to the public if no officials are using it.
