Avars   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
Perhaps a suitable synthesis of these ideas may be that they were originally inhabitants of Khwarezmia and had thus influence in all three areas.
Whether they had some kind of Hebraic origin connected to the quasi-"Jewish" tribes discovered in China and were a major influence in Khazaria or were simply influenced by the alledged Khazar conversion is a question demanding further investigation.
Initially the inhabitants of Khwarezmia, conquered by Avars in 410CE, were said to observe a form of mosaic law (see Sabians), but were later strongly islamicized while western Avar areas like Avaristan, apparently became a Christian kingdom.

 Heberite
Legends that Keturah, Abraham's third wife & children returned to their Hurrian Heberite homeland and their descendants spread from there into Central Eurasia are in harmony with the fact that nations potentially preserving a Heberite ethnonym predominantly accumulate in the vicinity of the Caucasus & western Central Asia.
The first speculation which might be made is concerning a people called the AparDi in Central Asia around 1300 BC, and this has brought to mind a possible connection with the foundation of Khwarezmia about the same time, connections to Heber being visible in both these names.
Finally perhaps the Avars still present in the Caucasus especially Dagestan are the remnants either of the original Transcaucasian Iberians or Khwaris who inflitraed the area from the east (Khwarezmia) or a mixture of both.

Oleg Petrov, author of the Temple of Zoroaster website, tells us that, according to Zoroastrian tradition, he flourished in 588 BC, 258 years before Alexander, who conquered the Persians in 330 BC.
Moreover, he is said to have converted Vishtaspa, probably a king of Chorasmia (Khwarezmia) south of the Aral Sea in Central Asia, when he was 40 years old.
If this is assumed to have been when he "flourished" then Zoroaster was born about 628 BC, and died about 551 BC, because tradition makes him 77 years old when he died.
