Topic: KIA Sedona

Kia Carnival - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is known in the British Isles and North America as the Kia Sedona.
The Kia Sedona was a new model from Kia to compete with the minivan segment of Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, and the Chrysler minivans.
Early Sedonas were rated at 15.6 L/100 km (city) and 10.9 L/100 km (highway), but the numbers improved slightly to 14.8 L/100 km (city) and 9.6 L/100 km (highway) for 2005 models.

2002 Kia Sedona - The Car Connection
In 2002, Kia, the self-nominated "little Korean car company that could," is hoping for another minivan revolution in the form of the Sedona, a powerful, feature-laden model with pricing far lower than the gargantuan players in the niche.
Boasting a 3.5-liter dual overhead cam V-6 with the largest displacement engine available in an import minivan, Sedona produces a respectable 195 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 218 lb-ft of torque at 3500 rpm, which means a lot of torque is available low in the range for safer maneuvering.
Sedona's cabin is built for family travel, with convenience features including beyond-average stowage space, comfortable seating and thoughtful, attractive lighting.

Kia has been on a roll, introducing a succession of important new models.
The Sedona seats seven occupants with bucket seats in the first and second rows and a split bench in the third row.
When Kia introduced the Sedona in 2001, the automaker claimed the five-speed was the only such installation in a minivan, but the 2002 Honda Odyssey has a similar transmission.

2002 KIA Sedona   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-30)
Although the assembly of Sedona occurs at Kia's vast production facility in South Korea, styling for exterior and interior elements was filtered through Kia's American design studios in Irvine, Calif. As a result, the overall appearance of Sedona seems rather familiar in a shape and format similar to other minivans on American roads.
Sedona also looks good in terms of its package size, the functionality of cabin space and seat arrangements, plus the built-in safety systems and long list of preferred features as standard equipment.
Sedona's powertrain is insured for ten years or 100,000 miles and there's a five-year or 60,000-mile shield against defects plus five years with unlimited mileage for a roadside assistance program with emergency towing service.

2006 Kia Sedona - The Car Connection
The new Sedona is slightly longer and wider than the model it replaces, with a stretched wheelbase as well, bringing a gain in overall interior space of almost 15 percent.
All Sedonas have dual sliding doors, as opposed to the single sliding door that was considered standard for minivans just a few years ago.
To many shoppers, Kia's lengthy warranty coverage - five years or 60,000 miles bumper-to-bumper and ten years or 100,000 miles for powertrain - will make the Sedona an especially attractive choice for families on a budget, even though resale value might not be as high as the Odyssey.

 Kia Sedona used car review
The 2002 Kia Sedona was the first minivan to come to Canada from South Korea.
If going after the minivan market was new for Kia (and Hyundai), their approach was nothing if not familiar: build an unassuming-looking vehicle with plain looks sure to appeal to many buyers, and sell it at a price that undercuts the competition.
The Sedona was subject to a few recalls (the details of which can be found at the end of this article) but seems to have benefited somewhat from the quality crusade that Hyundai embarked upon in the years previous to the Sedona's 2002 introduction.
