Sarangani Province’s history dates back to the turn of the 15th Century when Sarip Kabungsuan of Arabia arrived in Cotabato Province in Mindanao to introduce Islam with the help of religious teachers.
Sarangani Province constitutes the seven municipalities formerly under South Cotabato Province, such as the coastal municipalities of Glan, Alabel, Malapatan, Kiamba, Maasim, and Maitum and the upland Municipality of Malungon.

Elements of Sarangani Police Provincial Office (SPPO) swooped into the hideout of a certain Pagal Flores where the motorcycles were found.
The motorcyles, composed of two Yamaha DT 125 and a Kawasaki HD III, are now in the custody of the Sarangani police except by one, which was claimed by a radio station of the Radio Philippines Network (RPN) after presenting pertinent papers.

Farmers in Kiamba, Sarangani recently held a corn harvest festival in Barangay Kataubao, where 50 former combatants of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) are farming 100 hectares of hybrid corn through the support of the US Agency for International Development-supported Livelihood Enhancement and Peace (LEAP) Program.
Usop Udos, LEAP cluster leader for Kiamba said that a portion of the income from the harvest will be used to procure a mechanical corn sheller which will increase the farmers' productivity.
The LEAP Program, which is being implemented in collaboration with the Mindanao Economic Development Council, aims to provide a sustainable means of making a living to former combatants of the MNLF through corn farming or the commercial production of seaweed and rice.
