  The Kiang Donkey (Nybelmar Kiang)
The Nybelmar Kiang (pl. Kiangi) is a small, sturdy donkey that is found across most areas in the southern part of the continent.
Though larger and sturdier, the Kiang is thought by most scholars to be related to the quagga and the Sarvonian brinn’si horses, which it resembles greatly.
This tuft and the Kiang’s mane are coarse and bristly.

Maybe Ton Kiang is riding on its previous reputation, maybe it used to be high quality but that was not the case on my visit.
Traditional dim sum supposed to be small..not huge..Ton Kiang make the perfect size for ha gao If you want huge siu mai or ha gao I think go to more americanized chinese restaurant better..
Because really, the dim sum is fantastic and the only thing they needed to improve on was to 'westernize' their service a bit (meaning: let go of the frowns and "liberate" those smiles -wink).

On our trip to San Francisco last week, my family and I managed not one, but two trips to Ton Kiang, which has possibly the best dim sum I've ever come across.
My Dad turned me on to them a few years back, and it was a particular hit with my son, who's a huge dim sum fan, so we never would have made it out alive without at least paying a quick visit.
Best of all, Ton Kiang is right down the street from the Wirth Brothers' Bakery, which is home to my wife's favorite poppyseed coffee cake in all the world.

Dim sum options abound in the Bay Area, but none is better than Ton Kiang on Geary Boulevard near 22nd Avenue.
Plates of crisp-skinned duck; custard ``pancakes'' plump with vanilla filling; hefty slices of tofu that taste like wild game; slippery rice noodle rolls bursting with fresh shrimp; airy steamed pork buns; a whole plate of garlic-laced pea shoots: The parade of items brought to the table seems endless, and each one is a delight.
Despite the great food, when this branch opened five years ago (there's also a Ton Kiang on Geary near Spruce), the best items were written only in Chinese.
