	Kid Koala - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Eric San (born 1974 in Vancouver, Canada), who records under the name Kid Koala, is a Montreal, Quebec based DJ and turntablist.
		Following this tour Kid Koala has performed DJ sets all over Asia, discovering new fans in destinations such as Iceland, Eastern Europe, Russia, and South America all the while working on a fresh new book (apparently about a mosquito trying to play a clarinet) and a unique puppet show set to take place in 2008.
		San is currently working on a new Kid Koala album, entitled "Your Mom’s Favourite DJ" (ZENCD127), which is due for release on 25 September 2006.

		Montreal-based scratch DJ Kid Koala's (aka Eric San) full-length debut was one of the most anticipated, and delayed, hip-hop records in Canada.
		At the same time, Kid Koala says that in live performance he tends to be more physical and beat-oriented since something that works on record may not work live, and vice versa.

		For quite some time, Kid Koala was something of an urban legend -- at least as far as I was concerned.
		I had heard story after story about how he really was a kid, about what an awesome decksmith he was, that he was the owners of over 20,000 slabs of wax, and last but not least that he had webbed feet.

		The Kid has as much in common with the surgical precision of turntablist crews such as the X-ecutioners or the Invisibl Skratch Piklz as he does the Chris Elliott-inspired humor of Modeling School.
		As bad pickup lines fade in and out, Koala scratches some of the dialogue until the men seem like clueless predators as the objects of their affection respond with things like, "I'm sorry, do I know you?" It's the funky juxtaposition of the horny music and crestfallen suitors that leaves listeners equally entranced with both.
		Still, with everybody and his kid brother putting out a DJ record, this album (four years in the making) isn't as stunning as one might have hoped -- perhaps Koala's guest appearances built up too much hype.
