Kidlington is a large village and civil parish in the Cherwell district of Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom.
Kidlington is claimed to be the largest village in England (as well as Europe), with a population, including neighbouring Gosford (in Gosford and Water Eaton parish), of over 17,500 (compared to 1,300 in 1901).
Kidlington parish (ie, the main town) itself has a population of 13,719 according to the 2001 census (2006 est.

The area is dominated by Kidlington village which sprawls for nearly 2 miles along both sides of the main Oxford to Banbury road, ribbon development having been allowed in the mid 20th century as Kidlington became the largest of Oxford's dormitory villages.
The main road pattern in the south was significantly altered by the construction in 1959 of the Gosford link road, from the Kidlington roundabout on the Banbury road to Gosford, and in 1960 of the Oxford north-western bypass, from the Peartree to the Kidlington roundabout.
Kidlington men attended the Woodstock and Bicester markets in the 16th century; in the 19th century and the early 20th, carriers' carts ran to Oxford several times a week.

Member Colin Turner has organised two club trips (literally in fields) for hands-on photographic practice for both newer members and for those who are more experienced, after all we never stop learning.
The first in April was set in St Mary's Fields, Kidlington and under rather grey and damp weather conditions the group made a determined effort to get to know their cameras better, each member contributing assistance and support as and when possible.
Members and visitors alike are agreed that the club has a more welcoming ambience than our previous venue and the use of the bar in the adjacent Cherwell Club has also proved popular.
