Kigurumi - WikiFur, the furry encyclopedia
Kigurumi (from kiru (着る), to wear, and nuigurumi (縫いぐるみ), a plush toy) is the Japanese analog to fursuiting.
It can also be viewed as an umbrella term for fursuiting, anthro and non-anthro mascoting for various purposes as well as a special form of cosplay, that usually portraits animals or anthros.
Kigurumi involves dressing up in a soft costume, that covers the full body and gives the wearer a plushie-like appearance along with anonymity through masking.

Kigurumi   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
Kigurumi is the Japanese name for costumed animal characters.
Although the characters in question are almost all female, the cosplayers are nearly exclusively men; and quite often the appeal may be related to clothing fetishes, such as leotards or miniskirts which are popular choices with anime characters.
By wearing a body suit or mask, kigurumi cosplayers are able to get closer to the appearance of the original character, especially in the case of animal characters or highly stylised characters.

kigurumin community is a community for kigurumi pajamas, or disguise pajama, and not the kigurumi that is "animegao/dollers" or "fur suit mascots".
As stated in the introduction post, the word kigurumi literally means "full suit animal costume", but this is so open-ended, it could describe anything (like saying 'full-body suit' almost): it's usually used to describe mascots at theme parks or advertisement mascots, animegao dollers, or disguise pajamas.
Unfortunately, unless you live in Japan (or HK) or have friends in Japan willing to buy and send stuff to you, your selection in kigurumi pajama is pretty limited to only a few different lines of them...
