Generally with most movie soundtracks one individual will compose the music and it will be similar sounding or have a few recurring themes throughout its duration.
This however is not that case with this soundtrack.
Although the soundtrack is kind of short at less than fifty minutes it’s still makes for a quick enjoyable listen.

 Kill Bill, Vol. 1
1 is a revenge fantasy presented as something of a shrine to the conventions of the Hong Kong and early Japanese epic tradition--the geyser sprays of Lone Wolf and Cub (and the end of Sanjuro) married to the wire-fu of master Yuen Wo-Ping and the katana-play of Sonny Chiba.
1 is audacious and cocksure, finding a moment in the midst of the bloodletting to honour the art of sword-making and the light comic interplay that marks most Asian action epics of the last four decades.
1 isn't Tarantino's best film, it's just his next film, and it's been a long time since it was this difficult first to separate a director from his work, then to separate one work from the ever-evolving, ever-maturing oeuvre.

Kill Bill is littered with references to other cult movies of the past, and even Tarantino's earlier films are given many subtle mentions.
He said that Kill Bill would hit those emotions where one minute we are laughing and the next we are shocked or thinking 'ooh is this really funny or sick' (words to that effect anyway).

Review: In making Kill Bill, Quentin Tarantino set himself up with a daunting task, to not only revive his film career but also to make the exploitation film genre popular again and even mainstream, while holding true to its roots.
Kill Bill may not have been meant to be in two parts originally, but it works out fairly well.
Tied for first place is Thurman's "go home and cry to mama" scene or the image of a blood-splattered hall filled with the dead and dying that induces Thurman to instruct the living to leave their severed limbs behind.

It seems that when she tried to quit and start a new life, Bill and the gang didn't take too kindly to that and decided to cancel her plans.

It's trickier when the soundtrack comprises different artists and genres - without seing the film it's very difficult to form any cohesive judgement, though there are some classic films for which the soundtrack is a compilation of great tracks.
Kill Bill Volume 1 (I believe that's the film title, not just the album) is released on 10 October and as the first Quentin Tarantino film for six years is eagerly awaited.
I listened to the soundtrack before looking up information on the film, thinking that I was bound to form some sort of view as to what the film would be like.

Okay, the movie itself has been reviewed elsewhere on this here site by Martin Thomas, but since the DVD of Kill Bill is so scrawny, I figured it won't hurt to toss out a few thoughts on both volumes of Kill Bill.
If you can't love Volume 1 it's probably because the movie is a little more enamored with itself than you are with it, and because the movie is too straight-forward and simple to inspire lasting feelings of geek-chic devotion.
I found that I could pretty much sum up the plot by doing as Uma Thurman's character did: writing down the names of the people she wanted to kill (on a napkin where we were eating before the movie), and then crossing out the ones she had managed to kill in Volume 1.

Uma killed herself to get into shape after having a baby, and looks great for it, but even three months of getting your ass kicked by Yuen Woo Ping isn't enough.
1 is slightly cleaner than previous Disney films, only plagued by minor softness and graininess, one of which was intentional and one of which was not.

One can see in these bloody effusions not the serious psycho inclinations of the auteur but rather a sexual and orgasmic expression born from the joy of watching violence, in a cartoonish and somewhat childish way.
At the end of Volume 1, Tarantino leaves us hanging, waiting for the second and indissociable half of the film, in the spirit of a TV series rather than a story in chapters as in The Matrix or Star Wars.
Only at the end of Volume 2 will we therefore be able to have a full understanding and opinion of Tarantino's work.

I'm listening to the Kill Bill soundtrack on my PC as I speak, so he must be wrong.
Secondly I'd like to say to everyone who enjoyed this incredible film, to go and buy the soundtrack (that is if you like the music from the movie.) I don't understand these users who go out, see the movie, and then buy the soundtrack and are disappointed by the music.
That it does not overwhelm the soundtrack is testament to the strengths of the other tracks.

Proudly billed as "the fourth film by Quentin Tarantino", Kill Bill, Volume 1 is actually half of it (if you include his chunk of Four Rooms it's really the fourth and a quarterth).
Kill bill volume 1 is a great movie,maybe not a world class movie as it isnt entirely original as there are homages to spagetti westerns and the samurai movie but in all of that tarantino makes a more than cool movie with a strong script and a great soundtrack.
The film in its most basic form is a revenge movie,uma thurmans character has been left for dead and she wants to know why and ultimately she wants blood to follow,not her own of course.

The plot is dead simple: an elite group of assassins headed by Bill (David Carradine) spring a massacre at the wedding of a member who wants to "settle down and start a new life".
And in Volume 1, she gets some (but not all) of this revenge.
There are the shots of Daryl Hannah's character Elle walking down the hospital corridors, the fight sequence with O-Ren (Lucy Liu) in the snow, and the awesome, awesome anime segment (the artists should definitely be patting themselves on the back).
