Saifullah Khan Khudiadadzai was a great warrior belonging to the KhudiadadzaiTribe (a sub-caste of kakars sunzerkhel) in the area of present day Balochistan.
Saifullah Khan refused, swearing to fight for his honor until the last drop of his blood.
To his surprise the area was named Killa Saifullah, meaning "the castle of Saifullah Khan," in honor of his bravery.

A number of areas now in Zhob, Killa Saifullah, and Pishin districts were ceded to British Indian Balochistan after the Durand line in 1893.
This percentage will be higher now, as a result of the influx of Afghan refugees and the fact that Killa Saifullah and Muslim Bagh (upper Zhob Division) have been separated from Zhob district to form Killa Saifullah district although the urban population of Zhob city has increased.
The regular police force is 260 for the two districts of Zhob and Killa Saifullah together, including one SP, one Deputy or Assistant Superintendent of Police and three Inspectors.

The most limiting factor for crop production in rain-fed areas of the highlands is the low rainfall and its skewed distribution both in terms of time and space.
Annual rainfall ranges from 175 to 200 mm in the southern districts of Khuzdar, Mastung and Kalat and from 300 to 350 mm in the northern districts of Loralai, Killa Saifullah, Pishin and Zhob.
Crop production in non-irrigated areas is totally dependent on rainfall while the main source of irrigation water in the valley floor is tube-wells, karezes and mountains springs.

Sir Robert Sandeman, the first Agent to the governor General in Balochistan occupied Zhob in 1889 extending his forward policy to the region with the subjugation of the tribes inhabiting the Suleman range and occupation and control of numerous passes through it to the south.
It is bounded on the north by Afghanistan and South Waziristan agency of FATA, on the east by the tribal area adjoining Dera Ismail Khan district of NWFP and Musakhel district, on the south and south-west by Loralai and Killa Saifullah districts.
Qila Saifullah is the seat of the famous Jogezai family located on the ancient Carvan routes.

 UN agencies working on joint plan for 15 districts -DAWN - National; 29 July, 2004
Officials from different government departments and other participants were told that the simplification and harmonization process was driven by the ongoing UN reforms that envisaged better coordination amongst the UN agencies and counterparts as well as improved organizational effectiveness, efficiency and impact in the target areas.
Across the country, there are 15 districts, Quetta, Khuzdar, Pishin, Gawadar, Chagai, Killa Abdullah, Killa Saifullah (in Balochistan), Mardan, Kohat, Peshawar (in NWFP), Muzaffarabad (in AJK), Muzaffargarh (in Punjab), Khairpur, Thatta and Karachi (in Sindh) where multiple UN agencies are working in different fields.
These districts, the participants were told, had been chosen as target districts for joint annual work plan (JAWP) to be implemented in close coordination and cooperation with all UN agencies and partners.

Torghar Hills, Killa Saifullah District, Balochistan are a chain of rugged mountains approximately 90 km long and 20 to 25 km wide.
The total population is about 4000 people, who are semi-nomadic pastoralists and tend large flocks of sheep and goats.
Torghar lies in Killa Saifullah District, Balochistan Province of Pakistan.

LEAD Pakistan was engaged by the Education Sector Reform Assistance (ESRA) Program to develop a District Education Development Plan for Killa Saifullah, Balochistan.
In response to LEAD’s proposal, ESRA agreed that the District Education Development Plan would be evolved in consultation with and with active participation of key stakeholders to ensure vital ownership of the plan and avoid other pitfalls experienced during similar projects in the country.

 Ministry told to introduce new irrigation methods -DAWN - National; 19 October, 2004
ISLAMABAD, Oct 18: The ministry of food, agriculture and livestock (Minfal) has been directed by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to introduce high efficiency methods to increase fruit and vegetable production in Balochistan.
The ministry, official sources said, had finalized a plan to increase the production of fruit and vegetable, covering the districts of Quetta, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Loralai, Zhob, Killa Saifullah, Ziarat, Kohlu, Kalat, Mastung, Khuzdar, Awaran, Kharan, Lasbella, Turbat and Panjgur.
It is processing the project - Promotion and Expansion of Trickles Irrigation Programme in Balochistan - by including it in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of 2004-05.

Much of the country has received very low rainfall since 1998 and this situation has been exacerbated, particularly in the customarily rain-fed areas, by an unusually dry period which commenced in November 1999 and has continued up to the present.
The worst-affected regions are Chaghi, Kalat, Killa Saifullah and Aranji in the Khuzdar district of Balochistan, but the drought has also taken its toll in and around deserts of Thar in Sindh and Cholistan in Punjab.
In all, around 2.4 million people have been affected; 1.1 million and 1.3 million, in Balochistan and Sindh respectively.
