When judging the contributions of Queen to rock music, one should forget about the rather medicore eighties and focus on the mid seventies, when they were one of the most revolutionary bands around.
It has all the good Queen ingredients, but lacks the bombastic approach that marred some of their later works, in particular in the eighties.
And while on the surface it appears as though he is singing a love song, closer inspection to the lyrics show that it could easily be a tale of heartbreak.

More throwaway than usual for a Queen tune, but it was nicely done, the melody is catchy, and it's entertaining.
This is the first type of these old-style songs Queen would do during their career (ala "Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon").

I'm listening to Killer Queen, a multi group tribute to Queen, after having listened to the new Paul
They point out the whole problem of tribute songs and albums....There is as much chance putting out a cover that is better than the original, than there is for a fat, ugly or old singer winning American Idol.
Either you get an exact duplicate of the original, like Sum 41 did with the song "Killer Queen" or you change it in a way that is less interesting, like Joss Stone did with "Under Pressure."
