Killin Drama Club was reformed in 1987, and we currently have a membership of about 50 including about 30 junior members.
We have now introduced a "Friends of Killin Drama Club" scheme for those businesses who wish to have an association with us.
We are very fortunate in Killin to have a superb village hall where we have very good facilities including our own lighting and sound systems which we improved in 2000/2001.

In 1886 the Killin Railway (effectively a branch of the Callander and Oban Railway) arrived in Killin from the west, and continued as far as a pier on Loch Tay where it linked with the steamer service that plied the loch.
Killin's western end is firmly anchored to the River Dochart bridge, which provides a superb viewpoint over the Falls of Dochart (and some tight squeezes for the traffic).
This is the Tarmachan Ridge, a complex of mountains forming the western extension of the main Ben Lawers ridge that hems in the north side of Loch Tay.

I remember the Killin site being commissioned around 1980 and I recollect that there were protracted "engineering problems" at that time with the quality of the incoming programme feed.
You correctly state that Killin is a relay of Angus, however Killin is actually fed from Angus indirectly via Kenmore at the other end of Loch Tay.

The Goat Skin Jerkin used by Carrick for his model on the Killin, Dornoch and Oban sculptures was donated to Biggar Folk Museum and on my last visit was being used on a display.

Killin is situated near the head of Loch Tay over which rises Perthshire's highest mountain, Ben Lawers (1214m).
Killin became a burgh of barony under the 1st Earl of Breadalbane in 1694.
By the 1870s the Callander to Oban railway lay to the west and the local population, backed by Lord Breadalbane, opened their own railway in 1886 which ran from the main line at Killin Junction down the glen to a pier on Loch Tay to connect with steamers.
