Killorglin is a major activity centre for Kerry and has a number of tourist hostels on Dromin Hill.

Dating back to the early 17th century, Killorglin's Puck Fair is one of Ireland's oldest fairs which runs annually from August 10th to 12th.
The story goes; while the Roundheads were pillaging the land surrounding the foot of the McGillycuddy Reeks, they disturbed a herd of goats on the mountain-side.
Hence fair proceeded on 10th August of that year, and a goat was hoisted on a stage to prove that it was indeed a goat fair - so Killorglin had a new King and the landlord could levy his tolls.
