The Kiltie Band is a volunteer organization of current students, and also a handful of alumni who refuse to leave after graduation.
The main goal of the Kiltie Band, however, is for its members to have fun, so this disparity in musical proficiency does not cause a problem.

The Galt Kiltie Band is celebrating their 100th Anniversary by inviting all current and former members along with their guests to a reunion dinner, to be held on Friday, October 4, 2002 at the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 121), 82 Ainslie St. S., Cambridge Ontario.
The Galt Kiltie Band is saddened to annouce that Ken Dearlove passed away on March 12, 2001.

The band, which was formed early in the 20th century and existed until 1975, was once a signature ambassador for Wallaceburg, performing far and wide from St. Petersburg, Florida to the Toronto National Exhibition to points in Michigan and all over Southwestern Ontario.
The Kiltie Band Reunion, held Saturday in the Jeanne Gordon Theatre in the Von Ayres Cultural Centre in Wallaceburg, brought together former members of the band and about 40 posed for a group photo.
The reunion was prompted when former Kiltie Band archivist, 93-year-old Murray Newkirk, came up with a VHS tape of the band's legendary visit to St. Petersburg to perform in the Festival of the States parade in January, 1951.

Almost 70 years later, Brisco is the longest serving member of the Kiltie Band’s successor, the Chatham Concert Band.
Young Brisco attended Chatham Collegiate Institute and practised with the school’s 12-piece band, which was under the direction of Sydney Chamberlain, who had moved to Chatham from England in 1930 to lead the Kiltie Band.
When Brisco joined the Kiltie Band, there were 40 musicians, about the same as today.

THE WORCESTER FIRE BRIGADE PIPES AND DRUMS were founded in October 1994 when Firefighter Jim McClune and Worcester Kiltie Band member Bill McGinnes, were discussing the possibilities of having a drummer to march with the Worcester Fire Department during parades in order to keep everyone marching in step.
The Pipe Section was taught by former Worcester Kiltie Band member William McGinnes.
It was at that time, Neil Gow (a friend of William McGinnes from the Worcester Kiltie Band), stepped forward to instruct the raw talent that had started to play the bagpipes together.
