Kim Craitor is a politician in Ontario, Canada.
Craitor was elected as an alderman to the Niagara Falls city council in 1990, and served in that capacity until 2003, often quarrelling with Mayor Wayne Thomson.
Craitor is on the left-wing of the Liberal Party.

In the provincial election of 2003, Craitor defeated former candidate Selena Volpatti for the Liberal nomination and was subsequently elected to the Ontario legislature, defeating incumbent Progressive Conservative Bart Maves by about 3500 votes.
Craitor is generally regarded as being on the left-wing of the Liberal Party.
He attended the campaign launch for New Democratic Party candidate Wayne Gates in the Canadian federal election of 2004, and was generally regarded as at least tacitly supporting Gates over right-wing Liberal candidate Victor Pietrangelo, a longtime council rival who provided financial contributions to the provincial Tories during the Mike Harris years.

Craitor is the best possible candidate for the Liberals because as a left liberal he appeals to both dippers and business people (the latter group will contribute to his camapign for fear that the Liberals form a majority government - a very real possibility).
Kim Craitor is the NDP candidate with the liberal nomination.
Craitor is too controversial and confrontational for the residents of Niagara Falls (especially the Niagara-on-the-Lake portion of the riding.) During his last term in office, Maves has concentrated heavily on jobs, economy and securing the casino.

A private member's bill has been introduced by Niagara Falls MPP Kim Craitor would lead to grandparents being recognized as family in divorce cases and entitled to visitation rights.
