Kimberly Claire "Kimmie" Meissner (born October 4, 1989 in Towson, Maryland) is an American figure skater and current World Figure Skating Champion (2006).
Meissner became both the novice and junior national champion in two consecutive years (2003 and 2004), and the surprise 2005 national bronze medalist.
Meissner completed a triple Axel at the event, becoming only the second U.S. lady to do so in competition (Tonya Harding was the first, in 1991).

The USA's Kimberly Meissner has moved rapidly up the ladder since she burst on the scene in her first U.S. national event by winning the novice ladies title in 2003.
Meissner is still too young to do any international senior events, however, she won both the short and long programs at the Liberty Open in Delaware.
Meissner was one of 27 ladies who competed in the eight-event Junior Grand Prix beginning in Courchevel, France in August and ending in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania in October.

It was a night of great performances for the ladies at the 2005 State Farm US Championships, as Michelle Kwan and unknown Kimberly Meissner made their own history, both skating to music by Ravel for their free skate.
Though she only landed five triple jumps, Kwan easily defeated silver medalist Sasha Cohen, and young upstart, Kimberly Meissner, who is the first American lady to land a triple axel since Portland native Tonya Harding landed it at the 1991 US Nationals.
Meissner, who was only a toddler when Harding accomplished the same feat, said that she only decided this morning to add the axel to her program.
