The Municipality of Kincardine is located on the shores of Lake Huron in the County of Bruce in the province of Ontario, Canada.
The Town of Kincardine, the Township of Kincardine, and the Township of Bruce were then amalgamated to form the Township of Kincardine-Bruce-Tiverton on January 1, 1999, with boundaries identical to those of the municipality that had existed in 1855.
Kincardine and Walkerton were the main contenders, and the latter finally emerged victorious.

Kincardine is a maritime county in northeast Scotland, bounded on the east by the North Sea, south and west by Angus, and on the north by Aberdeenshire.
The coastline of Kincardine is very rugged with few breaks in 250-foot cliffs, but the northwestern section belongs to the beautiful valley of the Dee and the southwest is a fertile area comprised of 50,000 acres knwon as the "How of Mearns."
The western half of the shire is occupied by the Grampian Hills, a high range culminating in the peak of Mount Battock (2555 feet), which rises at the corner of three shires: Angus, Aberdeen, and Kincardine.

Kincardine News — The Municipality of Kincardine has signed a hosting agreement with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the long term storage of low and intermediate nuclear waste, which provides Kincardine and surrounding communities with a benefit package worth in excess of $39,820,000 over the next 30 years.
Agreement supported by all Kincardine is the only one of the five financial beneficiaries under the agreement to sign a formal agreement, but the other four municipalities have signed letters of agreement in principle.
Kincardine council gave third reading to the bylaw to accept the agreement for a deep geologic repository (DGR) at the WWMF, adjacent to the Bruce Power nuclear facility, at its Oct. 13 council meeting.

The Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band celebrated its 90th anniversary in 1998 and is believed to be the oldest street pipe band with unbroken service in Ontario.
In 1995 the band had become a charitable organization, pipe and drum instruction was a priority, the membership had nearly doubled and the band began wearing the Kincardine Tartan.

The Town of Kincardine submitted an environmental assessment on December 30, 1998, seeking approval for the continued use of the Valentine Avenue Landfill Site to the engineered capacity approved under the current Certificate of Approval.
