Kinderhook Township is a civil township of Branch County in the U.S. state of Michigan.
As of the 2000 census, the township population was 1,614.
In the township the population was spread out with 23.2% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 27.8% from 45 to 64, and 15.7% who were 65 years of age or older.

 Kinderhook Township
The township of Kinderhook is what is known as a fractional township, comprising but twenty-four sections, and lying on the southern border of the county on the Indiana line.
It was originally a part of Ovid Township, but the residents of the township being ambitious to form an individual organization, the portion now embraced in Kinderhook was set apart as a distinct township, with a separate civil government in 1842.
Viewing the matter in a humorous light, the name was voted upon and unanimously adopted, and has since been borne by the township, though the result of the merest accident.

Kinderhook Industries LLC, a private equity firm based in New York City, and restaurant industry veterans Rodger Head and Clyde Culp bought BD's Mongolian Grill for an undisclosed amount, Kinderhook and BD's Mongolian Grill announced Wednesday.
Kinderhook is a manager of private equity funds with $470 million of capital.
Ten of the 33 BD's restaurants are company-owned and in Michigan, Illinois and Colorado.

I clicked on his name and then I got his age, 35, born about 1895 in Michigan, his wife's name, Alma M. Then Iclicked on "View original image" and the page in the 1930 census that his name and family is found on came up.
The society is selling a searchable CD titled, "Unlocking Locke Township, Ingham County, Michigan." This 14,000 all names index and database of Donna Heminger's manuscript is her research on the early settlers of Locke Township from 1839 to almost the present time frame.
Ruth Lewis is being honored by the Michigan Genealogical Council on Thurs.

 Palm Sunday Tornado Outbreak - April 11th, 1965
This write-up is mainly from a Southeast Lower Michigan perspective with some data taken directly from the NWS Storm Data files.
Temperatures climbed up through the 40s over Southern Lower Michigan during the forenoon hours of Sunday, while behind the warm front (along the Ohio River), readings rose into the mid 70s and were accompanied by dew points in the lower to mid 60s.
As these storms roared into South-Central Lower Michigan, two horrible twisters were spawned over Branch County, one at East Gilead at 715 PM EST and the other, just a half hour later, southwest of Kinderhook (or, nearly in the same spot as the first).

I-69 in Branch and Calhoun County was recently designated a Michigan Department of Transportation Recreation Heritage Route.
During his speech, Mike Boyce, Convis Township Supervisor and manager of the Baker Bird Sanctuary, spoke about a future project of the I-69 RHR Management Team and its intention of placing Kestrel nesting boxes within the I-69 corridor right-of-way to encourage the increase of nesting opportunities and habitat of Kestrels.
Boyce invited a member of the Michigan Hawking Club to the podium to present the donation of 25 nesting boxes.
