The Kenilworthian: King's Indian Attack Bibliography
While going over FM Steve Stoyko's games with the King's Indian Attack, I was inspired to do a little research on the line myself and may return it to my repertoire.
The fact that the KIA can arise via 1.e4, 1.Nf3, 1.g3, or even 1.d3 makes classification difficult and there are likely a number of sources (including repertoire books on the French or Sicilian) where it at least gets a mention.
Emms offers the KIA as his repertoire choice against the French Defense, mentioning that it is not quite as effective against other lines – especially not against the Caro-Kann.

Indian independence movement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Attacks by Hindu reformers against religious conversion, cow slaughter, and the preservation of Urdu in Arabic script deepened their concerns of minority status and denial of rights if the Congress alone were to represent the people of India.
The Indian political spectrum was further broadened in the mid-1920s by the emergence of both moderate and militant parties, such as the Swaraj Party, Hindu Mahasabha, Communist Party of India and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
Indians throughout the country were divided over World War II, as the British had unilaterally and without consulting the elected representatives of Indians, entered India into the war.

King's Indian Attack - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In chess, the King's Indian Attack (KIA) is an opening setup of moves typically characterized by the setup in the diagram.
When played after 1.e4, the KIA is most often used against the semi-open defences where Black responds asymmetrically to e4, such as the French Defence, Sicilian Defence, Caro-Kann Defence, etc. The KIA is less often played against 1.e4 e5, where most White players prefer to play more aggressive lines such as the Ruy Lopez.
The King's Indian attack is considered to be one of the most solid opening choices for White, but not very aggressive.

 Seagaard - Chess Reviews
The renowned chess coach Mark Dvoretsky considers the King’s Indian Attack (KIA) to be a perfect weapon on which to base an opening repertoire.
It is basically characterised by the King’s Indian set-up Nf3, g3, Bg2, 0-0, d3, Nbd2, e4 but sometimes White also plays an early Qe2 and brings the queen’s knight into play via a3.
It is the easy-to-remember opening moves and standard attacking plans that attract many to the King's Indian Attack.
