King Baudouin, (also spelled Boudewijn, Balduin or Baldwin) born Albert Charles Léopold Axel Marie Gustave, (7 September 1930 - 31 July 1993), reigned as King of the Belgians from 1951 to 1993.
Baudouin was born in Kasteel Stuyvenberg, Laeken in Belgium.
In 1976, on the 25th anniversary of Baudouin's accession, the King Baudouin Foundation was formed, with the aim of improving the living conditions of the Belgian people.

His Majesty King Baudouin I of the Belgians was born His Royal Highness Baudouin Albert Charles Leopold Axel Marie Gustave, Count of Hainaut in the chateau of Stuyvenberg, near Brussels, on the 7th of September 1930.
On the 15th of December 1960, King Baudouin married the elegant and dignified Spanish aristocrat, Doña Fabiola de Mora y Aragón in a splendid and magnificent wedding ceremony, where most of European and the World's royalty gathered to celebrate the King's marriage, together with hundreds of thousands of the Belgians in the streets of Brussels.
King Baudouin was buried in the Royal Crypt in the Notre Dame church, in Laeken.
