 | | Stephen Maddock was appointed Chief Executive of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in 1999 and has already made an important contribution to the work of the orchestra, to its relationship with Birmingham Conservatoire and to the musical life of the region. |
 | | Having gained a BA in Arabic (University of London), a PGCE in teaching English as a Foreign Language (University of Wales) and an MA in Applied English Linguistic (Birmingham University), Tony pursued a remarkable career as a teacher and lecturer until his retirement in 2001. |
 | | Despite the demands of his 'day-job' he has also, since 1985, been the chair of Birmingham Jazz, an organisation which promotes up to 35 concerts a year at Symphony Hall, the CBSO Centre, the Adrian Boult Hall, the Midland Arts Centre, The Drum, the Fiddle and Bone and from this year, the Glee Club. |
