King Zhou (Zhow) burned himself, and his kingdom was conquered by the armies of Zhou and their allies from the west, among them many Non-Chinese tribes like Shu 蜀, Qiang 羌 (Tibetian), and Pu 濮.
King Xuanwang rewarded some important chieftains that helped hims against military pressure as feudal lords, the most important among these new fiefs were Qin 秦 in the west and Xie 謝 and Zheng 鄭 in the east.
King Huaiwang was allured to visit the court of Qin, was taken as hostage and died far from his homelands as prisoner in the west.

In late 1995 the State Council of the PRC launched a giant project to "research and determine the relative chronology and absolute dates" for the Xia, Shang and Zhou periods, a chronology that remains in dispute prior to 841 BC.

In the Liezi there is a passage (3.3) in the chapter called King Mu of Zhou, which develops the idea that dreaming, as a superior way of knowledge, is defined as a form of wandering of the spirit, while concrete acts are the result of the contact with form:
Day-dreaming as a form of forgetting determines the main character of one of the stories in the chapter King Mu of Zhou from the Liezi to live in a permanent state of forgetting.
In such a kind of wandering, according to Zhuangzi, the spirit follows the course of transformation and identifies itself with the universe, and thus does not depend on circumstances anymore.

The Puppet Show (kuileixi) is better known as mu'ouxi (play of wooden dolls), in the country, which has its roots in remote times.
It is said that King Mu of the Zhou (c.10th century B.C.) of oral history, on his way home from a big hunt on the Kunlun Mountain, saw a choral dance performed by Yanshi, a skilled carpenter, with wooden dolls made by himself.
However, it was not until the Han Dynasty that the puppet show was mentioned as a full-fledged form of amusement.
