Gates of Vienna: King of America?
The English word "king" is derived from the Old English cyning, which in turn is derived from the Germanic stem cyn, meaning "kind" or "people", and cognate with the word "kin", the German könig, and the Latin gens (this last is related to "generate" and "gentile").
The first king of England is considered to be Alfred the Great, during whose ninth-century reign the Anglo-Saxon regions of England united for the first time, in defense against the Danes.
However, in America, the culture of the English was mixed and merged with another one, that of the Celts.

King was unwilling to give up on an America that was all too willing to give up on itself, seeking a false refuge in the cesspool of racism, bigotry, and second-class citizenship.
University of Pennsylvania professor Michael Eric Dyson describes it as the shift in King's approach from the nonviolent passive resistance of the Montgomery bus boycott to the "aggressive nonviolence" of the Poor People's Campaign, from the nonviolent persuasion of the March on Washington to the nonviolent coercion of mass civil disobedience.

 I'm the King of America!
Kuehnelt-Leddihn wrote the relationship between a monarch and his citizens is much like that between fathers and children, and Hoppe has made persuasive arguments that since kings in a sense "own" the country, they’ll take better long-term care of it than a democracy, which invariably looks no further than the next election.
He has this to say about monarchs: "...a king, because he ‘owns’ the monopoly [the country] and may sell or bequeath it, will care about the repercussions of his actions on capital values.
Unfortunately, democracy is the worst form of government there is. All you have to do is look at the one hundred million to two hundred million people were sacrificed in the that "Age of Democracy" known as the 20th century.

While the recordings of "They'll Never Take Her Love From Me" and "The People's Limousine" by the aforementioned Coward Brothers, which consisted of Costello and Burnett, were included on Ryko's version of "King of America," they are still a necessary inclusion relating to this period of Costello's career.
During a QandA session at last week's South By Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, Costello insisted that reissuing his catalog again is not a ploy to confuse or milk the cash of his diehard fans.
