TV Show Summary :: King of the Hill :: Television Series Synopsis
From the mind (Mike Judge) that brought you Beavis and Butt-Head, King of the Hill focuses on the daily life of a middle-class family known as the Hills.
Peggy Hill is his wife, Bobby his is his son, and Luanne Platter is his niece on Peggy's side.
Throughout the years, King of the Hill has had a fight for the ratings against FOX's other animated series such as The Simpsons, Futurama, and Family Guy.

King of the Hill documents the Hill family's daily life, regularly forcing characters to question their values when they are confronted with the values of others, including their Laotian neighbors, the Souphanousinphones, or even their son Bobby.

The Hill's are honestly as close to an average American family as a television show has ever gotten.
With so many other cartoon series out there that have been beaten into the ground with repetition or seemed to be created to fill in a thirty minute time slot, The King of the Hill is a welcome series.
The point is I sincerely had fun viewing The King of the Hill: The Complete First Season and highly recommend it to people who have enjoyed The King of the Hill or some of the other cartoon series that appear during the night hours on basic television.

King of the Hill appears in an aspect ratio of 1.33:1 on these single-sided, double-layered DVDs; due to those dimensions, the image has not been enhanced for 16X9 televisions.
After the terrific visuals of the last Fox TV cartoon DVD set I saw with Futurama, the average picture quality seen for Hill was something of a disappointment.
King of the Hill never achieved the notoriety of Beavis and Butt-Head, Mike Judge’s most successful animated show, and it also never approached the popularity of Fox’s biggest cartoon, The Simpsons.

The best thing on the DVD as far as extras go is easily the "Becoming King of the Hill" featurette which offers insight from Mike Judge and others on the concept of King of the Hill and its makings.

Hank Hill turned out to be a realistic redneck: worshipful of tradition, fearful of variety and progress, but not really quite as conservative as he thinks he is. My parents are very much like that, too.
As I've watched the series, I've been tickled by different characters at different times: first Bobby (almost zen in his bizarre but internally consistent individuality), then Hank's buddies (where the sillier satire comes in), then Hank himself (eternally thwarted by life, but always strong and loving in the end).

King of the Hill: The Complete Sixth Season, like the last few Hill DVD sets, fits in perfectly with this serial underappreciation: an entire season is crammed onto three double-sided discs (while Simpsons and others get single-sided discs with actual artwork), with no bonus materials in sight.

While other series use multiple layers of animation cells for each scene of a program, “King Of The Hill” uses a watercolor backgrounds with only the characters animated on the cells, which gives the show a unique look that is definitely far more refined than “Beavis And Butthead” ever appeared on MTV.

 Sarah Michelle Gellar
In 1997, she began what would be her most recognizable role, portraying the title character on the program Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a spinoff of the 1992 film.
The television program was played more seriously than the film, taking a cue from the film Scream (1996), and incorporating intelligent, jargon-savvy teen dialogue.
Sarah's performance led the mid-season replacement series to a spot as a network flagship, and her overnight success in the horror genre earned her roles in the slasher flicks I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2.
