Kingfisher County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.
In the county, the population was spread out with 27.20% under the age of 18, 8.20% from 18 to 24, 26.80% from 25 to 44, 22.40% from 45 to 64, and 15.40% who were 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a household in the county was $36,676, and the median income for a family was $43,242.

Kingfisher is one of those towns which came into existence on April 22,1889, when land owned by the federal government was opened to settlement by "land run." A huge area in what is now central Oklahoma was literally "peopled" by European-Americans overnight.
Kingfisher's main permanent tourist attractions are the Chisholm Trail Museum, and the Gov. Seay Mansion nearby.
Economically, the Kingfisher County Development Foundation was created in 1958 for the purpose of assisting and promoting industrial, economic and civic growth within, and surrounding the Kingfisher area of Oklahoma.

Laws 1909, except upon the order of the board of county commissioners, and an appeal cannot be taken by the county attorney from a judgment rendered against the county in such case without the consent and against the wishes of the board of county commissioners.
"It shall be the duty of the county attorney of the several counties to appear in the district courts of their respective counties and prosecute and defend, on behalf of the state, or his county, all actions or proceedings, civil or criminal, in which the state or county is interested or a party.
It is the executive branch of the county government, and the representative and guardian of the county as to all its corporate affairs.

By Jeremy A. Ingle Staff Writer The Chisholm Trail Museum in Kingfisher, as a centennial project, is in the process of collecting stories about the families that settled in Kingfisher County and is encouraging every inhabitant of the county to participate.
Many of the families that did not submit information for the first book published in 1976 will have an opportunity to do so with this second volume.
A contest will be held to determine the official cover design for the new book at a later date.

If you drive north on Main Street through Kingfisher, Oklahoma, you can get a good view of the NE Corner of Main Street and Broadway Avenue Mural.
If you keep going North on Main Street to Robberts Avenue (SE corner of Main and Robberts), you can view the next painting depicting a street scene in Kingfisher with some Model-A cars and a group of citizens in long coats standing in the middle of the street.
If you turn east onto Robberts Avenue, the painting is on the southside of the street across from the Pioneer Telephone Building.
