Prince Edward Island (PEI; French, l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard) is a Canadian province situated in the Maritimes.
The coat of arms of Prince Edward Island, known officially as The Arms of Her Majesty in Right of the Province of Prince Edward Island, was begun when the shield and motto in the achievement were granted in 1905 by royal warrant of the late King Edward VII.
In September 1864, Prince Edward Island hosted the Charlottetown Conference, which was the first meeting in the process leading to the Articles of Confederation and the creation of Canada in 1867.

Last week's spring snow storm was a tiny taste of what pioneers experienced a century ago during the terrible blizzard of October 1899, a time when sheep ruled and sheepherders lived out-of-doors with their flocks.
