		For two houses with tiny budgets, the Kaun Beach House (1934-35) and the de Keyser House (1935), he used strips of roofing as an exterior wall finish, exposing wood framing on the interior.
		The tilted, translucent blue panels in the walls of the Janson House (1948-49) and the roof of the Tischler House (1949-52) made the interior spaces seem part of the California sky.

		THE IRON gate at the Hope Road entrance to Kings House, the Governor-General's official residence, which was taken down last year, is being repaired at the works yard of West Indies Home Contractors Limited (WIHCON) in Portmore, St. Catherine.
		The gate was removed about the same time WIHCON started reconstruction work on Hope Road in the vicinity of Kings House.
		The road work is slated for completion in September, by which time the gate should be remounted.
