  Kings Row
Kings Row is basically one of those old movies where this little town has a bunch of people going through their crazy, mixed-up lives and how they try and cope with all the pain that living in such a burg brings to them.
The town of Kings Row is supposedly based on novelist Henry Ballamann's hometown of Fulton in the great state of Missouri.
Kings Row successfully navigates around the edges of the movie-style soap opera to bring us a memorable look at how that most hallowed slice of Americana, the clean, pretty, small town, was just as susceptible to madness, corruption and pointless violence as any big city.

Kings Row Movie Review at Hollywood Video
Before there was Peyton Place (1957), there was Kings Row (1941), Sam Wood's slice of dysfunctional Americana that portrays small-town life as a hotbed of seething neuroses, hypocrisy, dark secrets—and venerable character actors playing second fiddle to lightweight stars Robert Cummings and Ronald Reagan.
Even when Kings Row induces knowing laughter, particularly in the scenes of Cummings plying his rather questionable psychiatric skills, Wood has such a solid grasp of narrative and pacing that the movie holds your attention.
Although Kings Row was a critical and commercial smash in 1941, it's chiefly remembered today as Reagan's best film, along with Knute Rockne: All American (1940).

However it turns out that only a small percentage of the positions cannot be resolved, so this was a nice way to make the Italian KingsRow more powerful with only a small additional computing effort.
