		The City of Kingston is on the eastern border of the county.
		In 1777 Kingston became the first capital of New York since Albany was occupied at the time; it was burned by British troops as a result.
		In the city the population is spread out with 23.9% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 17.1% who are 65 years of age or older.
