Brent Kington was born in Topeka, Kansas, in 1934.
Kington's subsequent research, such as his exploration of forge welding techniques of iron and his experimentation with laminated, non-ferrous alloys, constituted an important contribution to the resurgence of traditional flsmithing and was highly influential in the fields of flsmithing and metalsmithing in general.
Kington's career as an educator is also documented here through records of arrangements for his conference presentations, his activities as a juror and a visiting artist at various institutions and craft schools, and his administrative and faculty duties as a professor at Southern Illinois University.

Adam was succeeded as lord of Kington late in the reign of Henry I by his son Roger who seems to have been a somewhat lacklustre supporter of the Empress Matilda in the civil war of King Stephen's reign (1135-54).
In 1195 Kington was probably one of the royal castles used as a base for the general assault on the territories of the Lord Rhys which saw the recapture of the Radnorshire castles of New Radnor, Cymaron, Bleddfa, Colwyn and Painscastle.

The book launch took place on Friday 28 May. Sue was there to take questions and sign copies of her latest novel, which will be published on 7 June.
Sue thanked Miss Vera Harrison, secretary of Kington Local History Society, for all her research into historical facts for the book.
Her latest novel, about an idealistic curate, is set in Lyonshall and Kington in the 1860s.

 KINGTON HOUSING NEEDS SURVEY REPORT - Herefordshire Council
A recent survey carried out by Herefordshire Council has shown a likely future need for more than 60 additional affordable homes in Kington, with one-bedroom units likely to be particularly in demand.
At the request of Kington Town Council, a question asking about potential demand for office space for the self-employed was also included in the questionnaire.
Copies of the survey report have been sent to Kington Town Council, Kington Library and the Kington Info in Herefordshire Help Point.
