  Kionga Triangle
The Kionga Triangle was a tiny territory on the border between German East Africa (present-day Tanzania) and Mozambique, totalling just 1000 sq km (400 sq mi).
Originally the Germans established this as their outpost south of the Rovuma River[?], and there was a settlement Kionga of 4,000 inhabitants (1910), now Quionga[?].
On May 29, 1916, 100r postage stamps from Lourenco Marques[?] were overprinted with "KIONGA" and one of the denominations 1/2c, 1c, 2 1/2c, and 5c.

 Kionga Triangle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This 2½-centavo stamp, used in August 1916, is an overprint on a Lourenço Marques stamp that was itself overprinted "REPUBLICA" on a King Carlos issue of 1898.
When Mozambique became independent, on June 25, 1975, the Kionga remained with it, as part of Cabo Delgado Province.
These were the only stamps issued for Kionga, and are uncommon, today selling for US$15–$20.

It was Portuguese from the 16th century, but only in 1891 were its borders established, and it became a colony in 1907.
In 1919, Kionga district was joined to it.
Until 1941 the regions of Macica and Sofala were adminsitred by the private Moçambique Company.

In Andrees Handatlas of 1910 the Rovuma triangle is clearly visible, named "Kionga", a district known as the Kionga Triangle, northeast Mozambique, south of the Rovuma river, 1.000 km
Kionga town had (1910) 4.000 inhabitants; formerly a part of German East Africa; occupied in 1916 by Portuguese troops, transferred to Portugal 1919.
I suppose only national flags of Germany and Portugal were used in those days (although special postage stamps were issued in 1916).

 Southern Africa
Tete, Zambezia, and Nyassa were all administrative areas that were given separate colonial status for short periods at one time or another, and issued their own stamps.
Kionga was a small portion of the German East Africa colony occupied by Portuguese troops in 1916, and awarded to the colony by treaty in 1919.
In the meantime, four stamps were overprinted for use in this short-lived colony.

 Where are they?? - Growing Tomatoes Forum - GardenWeb
Scott and Kionga, haven't posted in a while (you can do a search)...Probably busy with the start of tomato season, and there are no members by the name of Stargal or Ashkebird.
As I recall Kionga was working out of the country and thus was away from gardening.
Scott in TX got mad, again, when last here and went away, as he has several times before.
