Kir Bulychev (1934 2003) is probably the most famous author of science fiction for children in Russia.
Bulychev’s first stories that he made up to entertain his daughter Alisa were issued in 1965 in the almanac Mir Priklyucheniy (World of Adventures) very popular in the USSR.
Kir Bulychev died on 5 September, 2003 at the age of 68.

Another well known series of Bulychev's stories are young adult stories about Alisa Selezneva, a young girl from the future.
Bulychev also translated numerous American science fiction stories into Russian, and wrote scripts for more than 20 movies.

Kir Bulychev is the pen name of Igor V. Mojeiko, who has been a special correspondent in Burma for Around The World [Vokrug Sveta] magazine in Moscow, where he oversaw the construction of a chemical factory in the 1950s.
Since the mid-Sixties his SF stories of have been appearing in Russian popular SF magazines and newspapers, written under the pseudonym of Kir Bulychev to prevent career conflicts.
