	HS Culture 4.12.2001 - Anorexia survivor wins Finlandia Junior literature prize
		The 27-year-old Poutanen, this year's winner of the special prize for children's and youth literature, learned that she was the winner when she received an SMS message from her publisher on her mobile telephone in the middle of a lecture in Paris where she studies drama.
		Nevertheless, Poutanen says that one reason that she wanted to write a book about anorexia was that she wanted to make people aware of the disease and the darkness in which a person feels so completely alone.
		Meanwhile, Poutanen is in the process of completing her studies at the most respected private theatre school in the city.

		Poutanen depicts the 15 year-old Julia's encounter with anorexia nervosa in the form of a diary.
		Julia wants to control her own life, she wants to be "thin, beautiful and strong, a perfect snow angel, a water nymph, an ice princess, whom no one can touch." The idealized pictures of femininity in the pages of women's magazines, television and music videos are encountered everywhere in a chaotic world.
		At present Poutanen is studying drama in Paris, where she also works as a freelance translator.
