Kirby (Nintendo) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kirby is a small spherical creature with large red feet and stubby arms and trademark red cheek-blushes, typical of Japanese kawaii.
Kirby's signature ability is to inhale enemies with his mouth (which can expand to an incredible size) and swallow them, mimicking their powers.
Kirby has ridden it through Kirby's Dream Land 2 in order to get from world to world; in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, 'goals' that were required to reach were warpstars.

Kirby, which has some kind of explicative and silly subtitle in its American version's title, is the longest in a line of games from a producer who probably drinks a lot of beer, watches a lot of baseball, and is otherwise a very typical and agreeable Japanese guy.
This quickly, and rather clearly, paints the portrait of Kirby as a character in a mid-nineties videogame, where the adoring fans were mostly teenage boys with soft, slightly feminine spots for stuffed animals.
Nintendo has said that their next system, the Revolution, will either frighten away developers who are concerned only with better graphics and bigger budgets, or else draw in people who've never made or played games before, inspired by this new wave.

 Welcome to Kirby's Rainbow Resort!
Nintendo fanatics way back then and even today, regard Kirby's Adventure as one of the best NES games ever.
You play a crane game to catch Kirby (and hopefully extra lives), quick draw with your foes, catch the eggs in which King Dedede is throwing (but avoid those bombs!).
Kirby's Adventure was a smashing hit with Kirby fans and remains a favorite to many to this day.

NINTENDO LAND - REVIEW: Kirby Super star, SNES
I first played Kirby Super Star at the 1996 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles (it then still was called Hoshi no Kirby, or "the Star that is Kirby" in Japanese) and was ecstatic that Hal Laboratory and Nintendo finally had brought the pudgy hero to the then-struggling 16-bit Super Nintendo.
The Nintendo 64 made its U.S. debut at that same show, so it was great to see some solid representation for the system whose place the Nintendo 64 soon would take at the forefront of Nintendo's development and promotional efforts.
It technically no longer is part of Nintendo's set of available SNES games, and although Toys R Us did have it as a current title as of this review (November 1998), it hadn't been in stock in my area for months and is overpriced at those locations ($59.99, the game's original MSRP in 1996).

Nintendo doesn’t want to) Nintendo first talked about this game however they managed to mess about with it so much via gameplay changes and delays that it was scrapped (or rather it wasn’t talked about anymore).
Kirby Air Ride is, much like Kirby, a hungry whore of a kart game, stealing from every other kart game possible and mashing it all together in the hope of coming up with something not terrible.
Kirby’s unique slant on gameplay is present with the ability to eat other players and absorb the powers of that enemy, so if Kirby eats some water-based player whatever power he/she has can be used by Kirby who will also sport a new hairdo based off his new found powers.

Nintendo Gamenet | Kirby Air Ride Review   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
Kirby Air Ride was originally supposed to be available with the Nintendo 64 at launch way back in 1996 but for some reason it was cancelled and now it has resurfaced as a GameCube game.
Kirby Air Ride is also LAN compatible (compete with racers on a different TV and GameCubes) of course 2 copies of the game (or however many people participating) and 2 GameCubes and two broadband adapters are required.
Usually it runs at 60 frames per second but in one of the levels there was an explosion and it dropped considerably and stayed that way for less than a minute however there are no clipping problems that I am aware of and the edges are nice and smooth.

Kirby: Canvas Curse - Nintendo DS Review
Kirby: Canvas Curse, in my opinion, is the current crown jewel as far as the touch screen utilization goes.
Kirby is chilling in Dream Land when some evil witch steals the colors from Kirby's world.
Think of Kirby Canvas Curse as being one of those old NES platformers where you'd die constantly, and be hammering the jump buttons all the way down to your inevitable death after you mistimed yet another jump.

Kirby's most successful titles have usually been of the platformer genre that started Kirby's adventures.
Although Kirby has taken on several other genres, such as Kirby Air Ride, Kirby's Dream Course, Kirby's Pinball Land and etc, more often than not these side ventures turn out to be rather gimmicky at best.
Rather than control Kirby normally, he's now a ball and you'll be using rainbow lines drawn by the DS stylus to maneuver the puffball around.
