The Tectonic-1 giant landslide which is pending over the tailings dump of uranium waste near the town of Mailuu-Suu has become active in the south of Kirghizia, RIA-Novosti reported on April 23th.
The Ministry of Ecology and Emergency Situations (MEES) of Kirghizia reported that a small part of the landslide with a volume of 250 cu m came down near the Kirghizelektroizolit plant as a result of downpours on the left bank of the Mailuu-Suu river.

MOSCOW, June 7: A draft intergovernmental agreement on the settlement of Kirghizia's debt to Russia was approved at the Russian government session chaired by Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov.
According to the government information department, the draft agreement stipulates the redemption of Kirghizia's debt in the amount of about USD 59.34 million in the course of 15 years.
The draft agreement envisages that for the amount of debt to be settled as of April 1, 2001, Kirghizia shall issue and transfer to Russia before July 1, 2001, 25 promissory notes of the Kirghiz finance ministry equal at par to the six-month redemption amount starting from April 1, 2003 up to April 1, 2015.
