Leningrad Oblast (Russian: Ленингра́дская о́бласть; tr: Leningradskaya oblast) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast) located in the Northwestern Federal District and named after the revolutionary Vladimir Lenin.
The oblast has an area of 85,900 km² and population 1,669,205 as of 2002 All-Russian Population Census.
Leningrad Oblast consists of 17 districts (Russian: районы) and 1 volost (Russian: волость):
