The emblem was decided on after inviting suggestions from the public on the fifth anniversary of Kisarazu becoming a city (adopted on December 22, 1947).
The bridge is featured in the movie Kisarazu Cat’s Eye Nihon Series, and in it there is a song called Legend of the Bridge, the words to which were written by the movie’s scriptwriter Kankuro Kudo.

When the media reported Jan. 31 that the plastic models were to go on sale for a discount averaging 90 percent, the phone didn't stop ringing as people tried to reserve them, according to officials at the park in Kisarazu, Chiba Prefecture.
The park was also used as a set for the TV drama series "Kisarazu Cat's Eye" and became a popular tourist spot.
