The story attached to this particular one concerns a farmer from the Poundsgate area who by all accounts was a kind and friendly soul.
This does give the story some credence as the original kistvaen probably dated to the early/middle Bronze Age and where grave goods are found they are normally flint arrowheads or fragments of beaker shaped pottery.
It is a known fact, as Parker Pearson points out, 200 p.92, that in the Bronze Age a new stile of triangular tanged and barbed arrowheads replace the earlier Neolithic leaf shaped ones.

The Kistvaen is doubtful and the 2nd cairn and stone could be part of the reave.
In 1957 the Longstone and rows are not shown and the fourfold circle was regarded as triple.
At one time the last pair of stones of Row A were upright and one is marked "GP" - a BS (boundry stone) for Gidleigh Parish - so once there would have been 3 tall stones in the Shovel Down "cemetery".

There is, or was, a Kistvaen on Lundy.
Nothing was found in the Kistvaen on Lundy to suggest the original occupant.

D.C.S.M.R. give the row as 183 metres, with a Kistvaen (now watch this) 0.2 metres off centre from the top of the row inside a cairn.
Other info says there are up to 280 stones, all in some disarray.
