Seeking a better life, members of my Warhurst family like so many pioneers, left their impoverished and often oppressed state in England, and were willing to put their lives at risk and inconvenience as they sought a brave new world.
Warhurst and Denholm memoirs are recorded in the 'Ward Papers' held by the Victoria State Library.
Solomon Warhurst a his wife Alice nee Denholm are buried in the Ballan new cemetery along with several of their children who are in unmarked graves.

Kit Warhurst: This song was completed early in the writing of the album and set a benchmark for what was to follow.
The greatest irony is that after all this, Kit's vocals weren't loud enough in the final mix, so we re-added his unaccompanied vocal tracks to the final mix during the mastering stage and boosted them - but alas, they still didn't turn out how they were supposed to, dagnabbit.
When Kit joined in on writing this one, we agreed that he would sing the verses, and I would sing the choruses.

The release of Contact High saw the Melbourne rock squad take their music over to the UK where it was lapped up by all and sundry as a scintillating, authentically fresh take on 60's junk punk.
Any downtime at home was used by frontman Roman Tucker and drum machine Kit Warhurst to throw the shit of new songs at the wall to see what tunes stuck and had the potential to become album material.
After an artillery of new songs was collated the band skewed their thoughts to who might have the panache behind the boards to take their third from sweet sonic sketches into a burgeoning fuzzy pop piece to surpass their previous efforts.

What can i say, this record is an absolute blast from start to finish.
Roman Tucker's hammond organ powers these 11 rolicking tunes like somthing you've never heard before (or maybe somthing you have a few decades ago), but thats not taking anything away from the rocking lines set down by the band (Dave Gray, Kit Warhurst and Paul Maybury) as a whole.
Its expensive, but i can tell you its worth it.
