The town of Misato in Senboku District was formed on November 1, 2004 from the merger of the village Sennan and the towns Rokugou and Senhata.
On March 20, 2006, the municipalities of Hachiryu, Kotoka, and Yamamoto (all from Yamamoto District) merged together to form the new town of Mitane.
On March 27, 2006, the municipalities of Hachimori and Minehama from Yamamoto District merged to form the new town of Happo.

According to the UN development agency, UNDP, communities in the Malian district of Kita are selling wood, honey and other products from local forests to increase their earnings "while improving forest management to ensure that future generations can enjoy the bounty."
Their earnings from selling wood go to the local savings and loan association, and "everyone is satisfied," he said.

Wood from the forests is sold through 90 rural groups, in conjunction with Mali’s Ministry of Rural Development, UNDP added.
Officials from local communities and the district have also been trained in public administration to promote decentralization and natural resources management.

At the beginning of an event here, the cars start from the right side of the median; this is the preferred side throughout the race, as it sets up a better racing line for Turn 1.
