In 1814 the Congress of Vienna confirmed Kitzingen's passing, along with the rest of the region, to the Kingdom of Bavaria.

Later, on the death of St. Adelheid, or Hadelonga, the foundress and first Abbess of Kitzingen on the Main, she was called to rule that abbey while still retaining the government of Ochsenfurt.
The name Thecla does not appear on the list of the abbesses of Kitzingen, but it is generally thought that she is designated as Heilga, or "the saint"; unless we admit this, the list must be considered interpolated.
Kitzingen was used for secular purposes by the margraves of Brandenburg, to whom it had been mortgaged from 1440 to 1629, when it was redeemed by Philip Adolphus, Bishop of Würzburg, and restored by John Godfrey of Guttenberg as a school for the Ursulines.

KITZINGEN, Germany — The commander of the 417th Base Support Battalion reassured more than two dozen local German political leaders last week that local jobs would not be lost while 1st Infantry Division soldiers deploy to Iraq in the coming year.
The meeting Dec. 17 in Kitzingen included the district’s lord mayor and district commissioner, as well as 20 mayors from nearby cities and villages.
The media was not allowed to attend at the request of the political leaders, but the 417th BSB later issued a press release summarizing the meeting.

The Bavaria District Superintendent’s Office is in talks with the Federal Education Association to determine how to handle approximately 100 excess teachers when three schools close after the current school year, according to Ed Atterberry, the district spokesman.
With the 1st ID slated to leave Germany for good next summer, school enrollment in those communities is expected to drop from about 2,100 to 700 for the next school year, Atterberry said.
