Sadly, when Kix got the opportunity to open for Poison at L.A.'s Country Club, their worse fears materialized as they stood in stunned silence watching a younger, better looking, musically challenged Poison from the side of the stage.
As Kix finally graduated to arenas; for the next year and a half, the band would open for heroes AC/DC and Aerosmith and a slew of others including David Lee Roth, Ratt, and the abominable Britny Fox.
By the time Kix Live was released, founding member and guitarist Brain Forsythe had quit the band returning to the fold in 1994 in time to record Show Business, the band's ill-fated debut on CMC.

The first cereal to use the new technology was Kix, created in 1937, as the pellets were expanded into small balls, though later cereals such as Cheerios used the same technology with other shapes.
Capitalizing on the atomic age, in 1946 Kix offered send-in promotions of an "Atom Bomb Ring" featuring a concealed compartment and observation lens that allowed users to look at flashes "caused by the released energy of atoms splitting like crazy in the sealed warhead atom chamber." The ring actually contained a small amount of polonium.

 Sleaze Roxx: Kix
Kix were one of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.
Their great live shows (many feel their stage moves were later stolen by Poison) and sleazy AC/DC style of metal should have made them one of the biggest bands of the day, but it never happened.
The band was formed in Hagerstown, Maryland, and were known as the Shooze and Generators before solidifying the line-up and becoming Kix.

Kix - Kix - Song Listings
In fact, the "hair metal" tag was unfair to the band since its pop-metal stylings drew as much inspiration from bubblegum pop and new wave as it did from hard rock.
Each of these songs has a deliciously pop quality to their melodies and hooks, yet retain a heavy hard rock sound thanks to amped-up guitar riffs and pounding tempos.
Despite this problem, the infectiousness of the material and the band's irrepressible good cheer shines through, making Kix well worth a spin for anyone who enjoys the lighter, poppier side of hard rock.

This was borne of a tradition held over from the medieval morality plays, plays with characters like Vice and Everyman, representatives to convey a message to the audience, often religious or moralistic.
They are the barren couple of the play, and we know this before they even begin to bicker about their fate: "Kix = dry, hollow plant stem, figuratively a sapless person."
Sir Oliver is himself a kix, it would seem; dry, hollow, sapless - unable to produce children, and more importantly for the play, an heir.
