In fact, it was so prominent that it even was dubbed the “Klanbake Convention.” While a select few objected to the racist platform, in the end, they were smashed into silence.
Thanks for the info on the Democrat’s historical affiliation with the Klan, I had never heard of the ‘Klanbake’.
However, I’m still confused by how the party of Lincoln ever got labelled as a racist party, considering its staunch support of fls emancipation, civil rights and opportunity for all.
