Classified as Class IV and Class V rivers (downstream), the Klang River and it main tributaries, the Gombak and Batu rivers, have been identified for the cleaning exercise which aims to upgrade the water quality among other aspects.
A recent study of the rivers confirmed that squatters are guilty of contributing to the poor condition of the rivers.
The programme to clean up the Klang River and its main tributaries includes desilting, cleaning up of domestic pollution, resettlement of squatters, upgrading the quality of downstream as well as upstream water and beautifying the riverine environment to accommodate recreation, especially in the "middle reaches" or urban areas.

This would have taken us to the old dam on the Seleh river, from where there is a trail that leads all the way to Pusu.
