		However Kleberson, who appeared in only 28 games for the club for various reasons (he dislocated his shoulder in only his second start for United and was never more than a fringe player after that), was considered a failure at the Manchester club and was frequently linked with moves, possibly back to his homeland.
		On 8 August 2005 Rıza Çalımbay transferred Kleberson to Besiktas of Istanbul, Turkey, in a deal reported to be worth £2.5m.
