The Matterhorn's nicest and most photogenic side is from the Rothorn, with its majestic vies of 29 mountains and summits over 4000 meters.
The ski lifts on the little Matterhorn are open all year but they close in early afternoon during the summer ski season (around 3:00, 3:30pm) depending on how warm it is up on the glacier.
The 'Little' Matterhorn is directly opposite the Matterhon (4478m), or "Horu" as the locals call it, the most impressive and famous peak of Switzerland and the Alps.

In future, when speaking of the peaks Klein Matterhorn, Rothorn, Schwarzsee and Sunnegga with the corresponding offers, Klein Matterhorn is to appear with the name «Matterhorn Glacier Paradise» and the other peaks with «Schwarzsee Paradise», «Sunnegga Paradise» and «Rothorn Paradise».
The aim is for the name «Matterhorn Ski Paradise» to acquire the same degree of familiarity as for example Dolomiti Superski in Italy, the Weisse Arena/Alpenarena in Flims, Laax, Falera or the Watch Valley in West Swizerland.

We chose to take the upper path back to the Klein Matterhorn since we did not want to cross the snow bridges we had crossed on the way up.

There is only one chair and 5 or 6 runs on the Klein Matterhorn if you stay high - this is good for a warm up but it gets old fast.
