There are a handful of new enemies in Klonoa 2 that grant you special abilities when captured, such as the kiton, which acts as a helicopter of sorts for a short burst, or the boomie, which acts as a timed explosive.

 N¥M NET / Evaluation / Klonoa 2 -Lunatea's Veil-
As all loyal Klonoa fans should remember, the original Klonoa had a number of stages that were based on a second person perspective, rather than that of a traditional side-scrolling platformer perspective.
Klonoa 2 features even more of the same stuff I loved about the original; very familiar, mind-numbing puzzles, lengthy boss encounters and mad, mid-air platforming skills that the original Klonoa required are all here in the sequel.
Klonoa controls just as smooth as ever before, and the way that each successive level ups-the-ante will keep the uninitiated on their toes and the hardcore thoroughly entertained, just as it should.

Klonoa's primary mode of attack is the ring's Wind Bullet-- a shot of energy which captures and inflates enemies.

Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament's been sitting the can for a couple of years now, but the design is so successful and timeless it doesn't feel like an "early generation" GBA game.
Klonoa 2's design is just as established as the original Klonoa: Empire of Dreams released during the GBA system's launch year in 2001.
Every level is segmented into brief challenges that put Klonoa's basic abilities to use, but it's incredibly clever to see how the designers create levels that can really require players to put on their thinking caps in order to accomplish the specific goal.
