  Klute
Klute is a great example of the 1970's American detective thriller.
With her smart mouth and love-'em-and-leave-'em attitude, the character of Bree was deemed the epitome of the thoroughly modern woman (that is independent and feminist), a moniker no doubt loaned extra weight by the newly reincarnated, braless, post-Vadim Fonda resplendent in her 'Hanoi Jane' coiffure.
John Klute is shown metaphorically as an outsider.

  Klute
Klute has no experience in the private eye business, so you immediately know that he'll crack the case that the FBI has been working round the clock on for the past year.
After Klute confronts her with the audio tape that he's secretly made of the whole affair, she defends herself and her audience by saying that he's old man and never lays a hand on her, he just wants to listen to her and watch her slink around.
Klute has so little dialogue that he's a virtual cipher and at first I was writing it off as a woefully underdeveloped character until I realized that he's merely the antithesis of Bree.

Klute is the primary recording alias of Tom Withers, a drum and bass and techno producer from London, UK.
Klute's style of drum and bass is strongly influenced by techno.
Although Klute is one of the most melodic and musical producers in drum and bass, his tracks are still typically intended for the DJ and dancefloor; nor should they be classified alongside the atmospheric or "intelligent" drum and bass popularised by LTJ Bukem.

Klute seemed "mature" at the time because it was the first of the "anti-mysteries" that turned the genre upside down by de-emphasizing the thrills and conventions and adding realism or a parody of the genre.
The locked door is a metaphor for her whole existence — and for the modern city itself, where anonymity and fear have brought on an obsession with security and isolation...

 DVD Verdict Review - Klute
Klute is also a movie that painfully shies away from stereotypes and from pat resolutions.
This is not to say that Klute by any of these other directors would have been the same film, but rather for the first time in its history the American film industry was shifting and starting to assimilate aspects of the tonality of foreign cinema.
While the bench wishes Warner would be a little more aggressive in both the volume with which their classics are released and in the care given to them, it is hard to deny the goodwill generated by the accessibility of the these discs because of the reasonable price point.

While Bree’s eventual relationship with police detective Klute (Donald Sutherland) might bring these issues too close to the surface to their own good, for a while the movie seems revelatory in its willingness to call us on our relationship with the facade of the movies.
Klute is a small town cop from rural Pennsylvania who’s on the trail of a missing family man that apparently wrote sexually explicit letters to Bree.
The movie wants us to believe its weak minded thesis, which says the city is corrupt, and the country is somehow pure, but it doesn’t really seem to recognize the willing corruptibility of the title character or that the stalker they’re tracking came from the boondocks.

From the earliest recordings to his forthcoming second album for Certificate 18, the sound of Klute has remained at the cutting edge of drum & bass for close to a decade.
Although now eclipsed by his work as Klute, Tom's induction to the music industry came in the eighties with his role in the notorious skate punk band The Stupids however, after three albums, ever-increasing attention got the better of the band and they split.

Klute MP3 Downloads - Klute Music Downloads - Klute Music Videos
Klute's first two albums for the label, Casual Bodies and 2000's Fear of People, successfully expanded upon this groundwork, shying away from any single subgenre in favor of throwing down a complex blend of sounds with intricate beat programming pushing against the gravitational draw of soaring orchestration.
Klute's first album for Commercial Suicide advances the amalgamation of electronic and drum and bass, with Lie Cheat and Steal: a fully fledged double album where the drum and bass master-class of Lie Cheat and Steal is countered with the second CD of pure techno, entitled You Should Be Ashamed.
There are few producers with the ability to manage a cohesive flow throughout two such traditionally very separate genres, but Klute achieves this through a comprehensive understanding of both; demarcating the boundaries through the smoke of mirrors of a common library of sounds, and Withers' characteristic writing style.

An intense suspense thriller with a haunting soundtrack, KLUTE is the first part of what director Alan Pakula described as his "paranoid trilogy." This is an appropriate summation of film subjects at the time; Jane Fonda's landmark performance as Bree Daniels was filled with nuances that personified the fears and tensions of urban life.
Klute's only lead points him to a Manhattan call girl named Bree Daniels (Fonda), who is being stalked by an obsessed john.
Shot on location in New York City, the film is both an intriguing and intelligently adult suspense film and a showcase for Fonda, who won an Academy Award for her role.

President Christy Harper said that she and Vice President Ryan Klute, who were both Student Fee Committee members last year, wrote the letter to ensure that current SFC members were aware of what they say is a long history of OSPIRG abuses of SFC guidelines on the spending of student fees.
When asked about the letter's potential to influence the SFC's funding decision regarding OSPIRG, Earll said that she was already "aware of all the things mentioned in the letters," but also said that the letter could have influenced less experienced committee members who were not familiar with the long history of the funding battle.
SFC member Erin Devaney, who has served as the committee's liaison to OSPIRG and supports funding the group, expressed disappointment that the issues in the letter were raised the day the committee was expected to make a funding decision on the group.
